Wondering where to stay in South Beach?

When you hear South Beach, you probably think bachelorette party or girl's weekend, right? Same here. But my first trip to South Beach was actually work-related for SOBEWFF. When my colleague and I pulled up to the hotel, we were pretty floored by how incredible the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is, especially for a work trip! Our team had such a blast here, and it honestly is right in the heart of South Beach. You also can't beat being directly on the beach too. What's also great is that the hotel is a more affordable option than the super luxe hotels around it.

Getting to the Surfcomber Hotel
Getting to the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is really easy via cab or rideshare. It takes a good 30 minutes to get from Miami International Airport to the hotel.
Or you can take public transportation via the train and the bus. The bus lets you off practically right in front of the hotel, and takes about 40 minutes.
Fun fact: If you haven't gotten Global Entry yet, the Miami International Airport is seriously so easy to set up your in-person interview. In NYC, the wait was crazy with the next appointment weeks to months out.
Staying at the Surfcomber Hotel
Since I was working, I didn't get nearly as much time as I'd like in my room. But honestly, the bed was incredible. After working and standing all day in the hot Miami sun, you need a space to just lay down and relax.
I was also able to take full advantage of their pool to soak up some much-needed Vitamin D too. There's even free WiFi outside, so you can bring your laptop. I also took full advantage of this!
The Beach at Your Fingertips
One of the best things about the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is that it has it's own beach access and amenities. I don't know about you, but I think this is pretty incredible. Just walk past the pool, bar, and a little pathway (connects all the hotels with the beach)—the beach is right there.
The Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel will provide you with a beach chair, towel, and an umbrella, so no need to worry about that. You can even have cocktails and food delivered to you while you lay out!
Dining at the Surfcomber Hotel
There are two options for dining at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel. One is in the lobby of the hotel called The Social Club. This spot is great for grabbing breakfast or lunch by yourself or with other people. It's really casual and they also have a patio in the front of the hotel.
If you're hanging by the pool, you'll be serviced by High Tide. They have more than your typical bar food here with ceviche, spring rice rolls, and lobster rolls. Make sure you get a margarita!
